Bear Tale is the first pattern Cheryl created for the Storybook Snugglers series. It creates an adorable bear with movable arms and flip blocks that children can open to reveal delightful characters. A simpler pattern for beginning quilters entitled "Mister Bear" is also included.

Bear Tale was inspired by the children’s story, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin. The flip blocks lift to reveal each character mentioned in the text. However, it and the second quilt, “Mister Bear”, can be modified or simplified to coordinate with other children’s stories. These include books from the following series:

• Corduroy
• Paddington Bear
• Little Bear
