Welcome to the website of Cheryl Almgren
Taylor, quilter, designer, and teacher! A fabric-addicted quilter with a
special love of appliqué, Cheryl finds great joy in bringing designs to life
through
the use of color, fabric, and thread.
Two
of Cheryl's great loves, quilting and children's literature, have been united
in a new pattern series, Storybook Snugglers, brought to you by
Martingale
& Company (That Patchwork Place). The concept behind Storybook Snugglers
is a simple one- creating a special snuggle quilt to share during story time
with your favorite child. As an elementary school teacher, Cheryl loved read-aloud
time with her students and has designed a series of delightful quilt patterns
that coordinate with classic children's literature. Each pattern includes a list
of coordinating stories to share during a "snuggle and read".

"Bear Tale,"
the first in the series of six
patterns,
debuted in April of 2007.
"Cale's
Garden",
"Everybody Duck",
"Once Upon a Time" soon followed.
“Monkey Business” has just been released.
“Something’s Fishy”,
the final title in the series, will be available in shops in February 2008 or you can
preorder a copy from
Martingale & Co..

Cheryl
believes that one of the wonderful things about quilts is they have that
special ability to literally wrap people up in our love. So, if you are a
long distance grandma like her, a stay-at-home mom, or a book-addicted
school teacher, these patterns will help you share a favorite story with a
child you love, even if your own arms can't be there to hold them.
