Welcome to the Website of Cheryl Almgren Taylor - quilter, designer, and teacher! A fabric-addicted quilter, Cheryl finds great joy in bringing designs to life through the use of color, fabric, and thread. Although she uses many methods in her quilting, her trademark style is most often expressed using fast, fusible appliqué techniques. Her book, Deck the Halls, from Martingale & Company (That Patchwork Place), features 10 Christmas quilt projects to decorate your holiday home using simple piecing and fast appliqué techniques. The projects include a Christmas stocking, fireplace mantel scarf, table toppers, wall hangings, and a delightful “Welcome” banner for your door. Take a peek inside a copy when you’re visiting your favorite quilt store.

Cheryl is also the designer of the pattern series, Storybook Snugglers, also from Martingale & Company (That Patchwork Place). As an elementary school teacher, Cheryl loved read-aloud time with her students and has designed a series of delightful quilt patterns that coordinate with classic children's literature. These patterns create a special snuggle quilt to share during story time with your favorite child and includes a list of coordinating stories to read aloud. Cheryl believes that quilts have a special ability to literally wrap people up in our love. When we make a quilt for our home or someone we love, each stitch comes from our heart. She hopes that her patterns and this website will help to inspire your creativity  
and express the feelings of your heart.

Cheryl will be featured at Pocono Sew & Vac on Saturday, July 24, 2010 for a special "Christmas in July" event. There will be a "Meet & Greet" from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM where she will talk with people and sign books & patterns. From 1:00 - 4:00 PM, Cheryl will be teaching a class featuring the "Wrapped Up in Ribbons" table runner from her Deck the Halls book.
